Apple Plans to Supercharge Vision Pro Headset with AI and Spatial Apps

In addition to software enhancements, Apple is set to enhance its Vision Pro headset with advanced artificial intelligence (AI) features, aiming to elevate user experience and maintain competitiveness in the evolving tech landscape. According to report, the company plans to integrate its proprietary AI suite, known as Apple Intelligence, into the Vision Pro. This integration will introduce tools such as Writing Tools, Genmojis, and the Image Playground app, alongside a new guest user mode and a spatial content application.

This upcoming model is anticipated to feature the new M5 chip, replacing the current M2, to support Apple Intelligence and significantly boost computing power. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo suggests that this integration could elevate the user experience to unprecedented levels, particularly through advanced AI models capable of generating immersive content. Mass production of this upgraded headset is projected to commence in the second half of 2025. These updates are expected to be part of a software upgrade, potentially available in better form to developers in the near future.

These developments come as Apple seeks to revitalize interest in the Vision Pro, which has faced challenges in sales due to its premium pricing and competition from more affordable alternatives like Meta’s Quest series. By incorporating cutting-edge AI features and enhancing hardware capabilities, Apple aims to offer a more compelling and immersive user experience, potentially redefining the mixed reality landscape.
